Wake Me Up

I’m in a nightmare.

It’s dark. Too dark that I cannot see anything. Too dark to not see any light, any figure, any person.

It was quiet. Too quiet that the only thing I hear is my own heartbeat.

I could feel the water underneath my feet.

It’s starting to go up. Up, up… to my knees.

I started to wade through the water.

I started to shout.

But I cannot hear my voice.

I started to panic.

I ran.

The water’s going up.

Up, up… to my chest.

I could feel my tears running down my cheek.

The water’s going up.

Up, up… to my neck.

I don’t know what to do anymore…

The water’s going up.

I cannot breathe anymore.

I’m drowning.

I forgot how to swim.
